Okay guys, I realize each of you want to state your story here. I'll be happy to allow it as soon as I hear the "other side" of the story. I'm giving the person in question the chance to defend herself before "freeing up" the post. Please be patient with me as I don't want anyone unjustly accused. We knew Angie Fish and Dreamquest had their issues, but I'm waiting to hear from the "alleged" person before I allow the post to go up about her. I'm NOT trying to stifle the truth, I PROMISE!

I've given the owner a chance to tell her story. Unfortunately, it was a rather incomplete answer.  The Mastiff Community did not give Angie Fish/Heska Mastiffs or Dreamquest Mastiffs a "pass" for this, so this breeder will not be handled any differently. The facts that I have gotten to this point are this:
1.) Two litters have come and gone with several people NOT receiving a puppy or the return of their deposit for a puppy. During this time, the breeder has bred two litters and has campaigned her own bitch with a handler instead of repaying the deposits. Several of the buyers are resorting to contacting the attorney general of her state to file criminal charges. Puppy buyers and a stud dog owner has reported that the "checks" have bounced when she attempted to send money. So, in addition to not returning deposits or fees, she's written hot checks.

2.) One stud dog owner reported the stud dog fee has not been paid from three years ago and yes, a check for one of the "partial payments" bounced. They are waiting to see if the latest "payment"  bounces or not. They have been trying to collect for three years.

It is time to stop these things from happening. I am giving the breeder a couple of more days to try to handle these matters, but I personally feel that this hurts our breed VERY badly when we stand idly by and allow breeders to continue with such practices. Those of you that KNOW who I am talking about need to reach out and persuade her to take care of this NOW. Over three years is TOO LONG to make people wait for their money. Reputable breeders dealing with her NEED to get involved and let her know this is not appropriate and reflects on them as well for dealing with someone like this.

Times up. Anyone with a non-refunded deposit from Tara Smith of Fawn River Mastiffs should immediately contact the attorney general in Michigan. They've already been made aware from other puppy buyers not recieving their refunds. Breeder has also gone under Legacy Mastiffs kennel name.

Unfortunately, since some of her "supporters" have big names within the breed, she may think she's protected. What she doesn't understand is that those people will jump ship as soon as possible when it starts reflecting on them. The next step I will be taking is to put the warning up on Facebook. I assure you that reputable breeders will NOT want their names associated with scams.
